Sterling Silver Roman Oval Filigree Ring

Sterling Silver Roman Oval Filigree Ring is an intricate, ornate, artisan crafted sterling silver ring that our designers had created in Ankara more than 3 years ago. The large 14 x 10 mm peach quartz stone is genuine and it makes the creation elegant and unique. The top of the ring , though has no stone, is a beautiful example of a filigree craft. The first sample takes about half a day for an artist with 10 years experience to finish. The sides and top of this ring shows how the artists have embroidered to create the floral designs that constitute the ring. Like most filigree that we make this too is lightly polished and oxidized to bring out the luster of the silver and give it an antique look.

Filigree Art and Ottoman Silver Collection

Filigree is the art of embroidery with metal thread. It is similar to embroidering lace except with metal thread. It is an art that has been developed and excelled in Southeastern Turkey in the last two millennia by Assyrian Christians.

Ottoman Silver Collection is created in Turkey and by some of the best Filigree Artists in the world. We have been supplying jewelry to some of the best retail outlets including the best-known TV retailers for 20 years. Aside from the USA, it has sold and has a strong following in the UK, Italy, Germany, France and Canada. We are about to debut in China soon.

Designs are inspired from history and nature. The Ottoman Empire that lends its name to our collection inherited the cultural riches of the Roman and Byzantine Empires. In this part of the world they have been making jewelry for 8 millennia. It was home to jewelers of Assyrian, Armenian, Greek, Persian, Arabic and Turkish heritage.
